沿革とルーツ

Traction® Software, Inc. (前 Twisted Systems, Inc.) は、チームのコミュニケーションにおけるフラストレーションとコストばかりかかる非効率を解消し、画期的な Web ベースのハイパーテキスト ジャーナルによる情報 マネジメントを提供するために 1996年に設立されました。最初の TeamPage は 1999 年にリリースされ、2002 年 7 月に販売を開始、以降、企業で使えるブログ & Wiki として業界初の先駆的な製品として認められています。TeamPage は主要な製薬、金融、製造、ヘルスケア、その他多くの企業、大学、米国の政府機関など 世界各国で導入 されています。2007 年には、Infoworld's 2007 Technology of the Year Award の Best Enterprise Wiki に選ばれました。ほかの受賞歴は こちらをクリック してください。

Traction Software は 2000年に In-Q-Tel (CIA 出資の投資ベンチャー グループ）から出資を受け、さらに 2002 年には In-Q-Tel、Slater Technology Fund 、そして個人投資家から出資を受けました。

TeamPage は Doug Engelbart、Ted Nelson、Andy van Dam、そして Vannevar Bush の成果の先駆的なテクニックとビジョンから大きな影響を受けています。TeamPage のジャーナルは、Doug Enegelbart の 1992 年の論文 Toward High-Performance Organizations: A Strategic Role for Groupware と Vannevar Bush の 1945 年の Atlantic Monthly の記事 Memex のコンセプトから直接ヒントを得ました。1968 年にはじめて示された Engelbart のハイパーテキスト ジャーナル（oN Line System 用 NLS の一部）は、TeamPage 開発のモデル、そして出発点となっています。
