In-Q-Tel

In-Q-Tel is a private, independent, enterprise funded by the CIA. Launched in 1999, In-Q-Tel's mission is to identify and invest in companies developing cutting-edge information technologies that serve United States national security interests. Slater Center for Interactive Technologies

Established in 2000, Slater Interactive is one of five Slater Centers administered by the Rhode Island Economic Policy Council and funded by the Rhode Island General Assembly. Each of the Centers is focused on a particularly promising technology in which Rhode Ixsland entrepreneurs have demonstrated expertise – in addition to interactive technology, centers have been created for biotechnology, ocean technology, environmental technology, and design innovation. The centers are tasked with providing seed money and business development support for startups, offering support for established companies, and generally acting as a catalyst for transfer of viable technologies from academia to the commercial market.
